Medical Show Blog #2
After class invention strategies and exercises, I was able to discover more ideas that are represented in the "Good Doctor". Some of the values promoted in this medical series are that doctors should try to provide patients with the best care possible, have good intentions for practicing medicine, and provide patients with accurate and reliable information. We see this through the contrast of Dr. Murphy and the rest of the doctors at the hospital. Many of the doctors do not have the values as described above, which leads to the poor health of their patients, while Dr. Shawn Murphy does have the values above, which leads to the good health of his patients. Overall, this show promotes the ideas that there are a decent chunk of medical doctors that do have flaws in their practice of medicine after becoming a part of a hospital institution, which is something that I agree with. Dr. Murphy, because of his autism, is able to stick up against the values promoted by many in the hospital institution (like doing less tests, lying to patients, and wanting to have the highest position), and is able to show what a good doctor should be. (My views about the characters have not changed since the first post.)

I liked how you were able to say why Dr. Murphy is a better doctor compared to other doctors and why he strives to be the best. Do you think the other doctors look up to him because of how dedicated he is to his job or do they look at him like a joke?
ReplyDeleteI believe they look up to him because he is dedicated.
