My topic is COVID-19 vaccine mandates in public k-12 schools in the United States. I see myself taking the stance that their should be forced vaccine COVID-19 mandates in public k-12 schools in the United States. One of the main points is that COVID-19 vaccines are very effective in maintaining public health, especially in the prevention of the spreading of COVID-19. According to a researcher from the Institute of Public Health at the University of Paris, the majority of scientists believe it will help keep schools open during highly transmissible variants. Additionally, mandating COVID-19 vaccines is of upmost legality. In Jacobson v. Massachusetts, states were given the rights of vaccine mandates, so each state can pick and choose which vaccine mandates to instate. Lastly, COVID-19 vaccine mandates are also of ethicality. This is based on the principle of non-maleficence. According to medical doctor Sween, "a vaccine mandate is ethically justified if it benefits the person being...

My current topic focuses on wether or not COVID-19 vaccines should be mandated in public k-12 schools in the United States. Currently, there is no mandate that has been implemented in any state, accept in the capital of Washington D.C. However, California does have a mandate that is pending (see link ). There are a plethora of prospectives regarding the mandating of vaccines in public k-12 schools. Some of these prospectives include effectiveness, legality, and ethicality. The majority of scientists believe it will help keep schools open during highly transmissible variants, however, there is unclear data about vaccines' efficacies for new variants of COVID-19, like the sub-variants of Omicron (see both of these sources -  link2  &  link 3 ). In terms of legality, this is also highly contested, given that some states have put bans on COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Some say this violates the Constitution. Though, there have been numerous Supreme Court cases saying that it ...

After class invention strategies and exercises, I was able to discover more ideas that are represented in the "Good Doctor". Some of the values promoted in this medical series are that doctors should try to provide patients with the best care possible, have good intentions for practicing medicine, and provide patients with accurate and reliable information. We see this through the contrast of Dr. Murphy and the rest of the doctors at the hospital. Many of the doctors do not have the values as described above, which leads to the poor health of their patients, while Dr. Shawn Murphy does have the values above, which leads to the good health of his patients. Overall, this show promotes the ideas that there are a decent chunk of medical doctors that do have flaws in their practice of medicine after becoming a part of a hospital institution, which is something that I agree with. Dr. Murphy, because of his autism, is able to stick up against the values promoted by many in the hospi...

Just recently, I binge-watched four episodes of The Good Doctor. In this ABC series, there are a few main characters: Dr. Shaun Murphy, Dr. Neil Melendez, Dr. Aaron Glassman, Dr. Marcus Andrews, Dr. Claire Browne, and Dr. Jared Kalu. They all represent a plethora of hospital character archetypes. Dr. Shaun Murphy, a high-functioning autistic doctor, is actually greatly representative of what a doctor should be. He is moral and caring, always putting the patient first. For instance, even if he has the slightest inclination that a certain condition could be related to a certain disease, he will test for that disease. He will even drive to patients' houses in the middle of the morning when he finds something wrong. Dr. Melendez and Dr. Andrews are characters who are more authoritarian, who are book followers, and usually, put the profits of the hospital first. They are very reluctant to have Dr. Murphy become a surgeon at their hospital as he is autistic (he might mess up procedures)....
